Freeware section
'Freeware' is the name given to free software - that is, software which can be freely downloaded and used at no cost to the user. In a world where a copy of Windows or Office can set you back a three-figure sum, freeware sounds like a pretty good proposition, so this part of my website is dedicated to linking up the best freeware out there on the web.
Click a link below and get downloading!
- Windows freeware directory - This is a fairly large directory of free software for the Microsoft Windows operating system. Unlike other OSes, Windows doesn't come with much software 'out of the box', so this directory is your best friend when you're setting up a new Windows install.
- Linux/Unix information - Of course, Windows isn't the only OS out there (although it might seem that way sometimes). Unix, Linux and similar OSes have been around for years and with few exceptions, you can download your chosen distro and use it free of charge. Plus they come with oodles of handy free software. Where's the problem here?
- Lamsey's Freeware - Gotta practise what you preach. Here's a selection of small programs coded by yours truly which are freely downloadable and distributable over the 'net. Help yourself!
- Retail-to-Freeware Conversion Table - Looking to go all-freeware on your setup? Here's a quick guide to what you can replace the most common types of retail apps with, all without laying out a penny.
