Still Alive
Fri 22/2/08 (Link to this entry)

So what have I been doing for the past four weeks that's kept me so busy that I haven't written any journal entries? Well, the answer is sadly not particularly exciting - the truth is that I've been spending so much time fixing other people's computers recently that I can't be bothered doing anything with my own. Instead, for the past few weeks I've been steadily ploughing my way through several seasons of Mythbusters, which has been keeping me mightily amused.

Life's been plodding on fairly slowly for me recently. I've not been doing very much at all, apart from spending last weekend down in Sheffield visiting James and Kim, which was really good fun and well worth the train fare. Things are now starting to get moving on the uni front with a bunch of group projects starting up, so it looks like I'll be getting back to something approaching a working routine, and not a moment too soon.

I was hoping that by this time I'd have my part-time job with Sun worked out, but I'm still trying to get the university's involvement in the scheme formalised. I've got a meeting in early March in which I hope I'll be getting the last bits and pieces sorted out, so fingers crossed. In the meantime it looks like I could be getting some weekend development work from my old boss Paul, which will be a nice way to earn a bit of extra cash while keeping my hand in with real-life work.

That's about all for now. Hopefully it won't take me another month to get around to writing my next entry!
