Now Playing...

Like most gamers, my gaming habits change with the seasons. Here's a quick glimpse at what I'm getting up to just now.

Multiplayer

I'm not playing many online games these days, but when I do my game of choice is the excellent Team Fortress 2. This team-based shooter is pure unadulterated fun with a quirky sense of humour and excellent, fast paced gameplay. The maps are all excellent, the graphics are great, and the different classes offer plenty of variety - no two games are quite the same.

The other games I've been known to play online are Battlefield 2 and Day of Defeat (and, latterly, DoD:Source). As with TF2, I like to play in a squad, so if you see me online then get chatting and we can work together. It's always nice when you get a coordinated team going, especially if they're following the tips in my DoD Guide.

Single Player

Right now I'm struggling my way through Crysis, which barely runs on medium settings on my system (which is no slouch). It's a great game with some entertaining gameplay mechanics - I particularly like sneaking around using the cloaking ability.

The game is as gorgeous as the reviews say, even on medium settings. The story's not up to the standards of the likes of Half-Life 2 or the Thief series, but it's more than good enough to keep you interested as you work your way through the beautiful jungle settings.
